cold blooded and damn right dirty II
by PC

“All their lives, you know what people have been told? That there are those of us who are supposed to be ‘normal’, and those of us who are supposed to be ‘disabled’, or ‘mentally retarded’. I don’t like the terms ‘handicap’, ‘retarded’, ‘mentally ill’, ‘learning disorder’, ‘weak minded’, or ‘deaf and dumb’, and I sure can’t stand the term ‘disabled’! I think terms like ‘learning challenged’, ‘mentally challenged’, and ‘emotionally challenged’ are appropriate to use. You could use the term ‘differently abled’, ‘otherly abled’, or ‘differently talented’. I often will use the term ‘challenge’, because that’s what I have. That’s more appropriate, and that’s why I like to hear more and more people use it.

It’s time for the day of disabilities to come to a stop right now. And I’m gonna keep on working to try to make life better for us people with challenges. I am so gonna try to make a difference! Now there’s a lot of things that I’m not too good with, but what I am good with is teaching about labels.”
